Customer Reviews
User popularity level: out of 5 stars

Rated by buyers 3 out of 5 stars - A ridiculously left biased, poorly written text book.
As a college text book, one would think that the view points would maintain a neutral position. This book certainly does not. Perhaps they should have renamed the title "America, Past and Present: what a terrible, deceptive, and evil country has been and will continue to be."

The writing is all over the place with obvious editorial notions. Some sections are better than others, but there is little to no consistency in the text. The writing style varies a great deal as well.

I'm giving it three stars instead of two because it was relatively cheap, however, the text itself is rather poor. Contrast this book to say, Art Across Time by Laurie Adams, and you will wonder how this book is considered a college level text book.

I guess I should treasure the following facts I have learned from the book:
* America is Evil(tm)
* Industrialization and consumerism are slightly more evil than America.
* Americans most likely ate Indian babies (This is not in the book, but I am close to believing it after reading the very first half).
* The New Deal is AWESOME!!!!1!
