Blood Noir was very thin on plot. I regret purchasing this book. The Anita Blake series has been going downhill since NIC. I won't bother going in depth on how much this book sucked since everyone did so much more eloquently than I ever could. I had completely given up hope that this series would get back on track and the only reason I read BN was to see how bad LKH's writing can get. Everytime I think she can't possibly get any worse she always does. I will never buy another LKH book.

I will just keep it short, they could just as well have just called it "Anita Does Everybody" and shelved it under porn. God I miss the series I started reading, I am gonna cancel my pre-order of the subsequent book. I only got about 25% through this one before I gave up! This series has been dead for a long time.

What happened to the Anita Blake we all knew and loved? What happened to the other characters who are not recognizable anymore? I got bored with the series after Blue Moon. Too much mindless sex and not enough plot. Sexual tension is fine, but for Pete's sake give it a rest and give us back the old Anita. Anita seems to be "on her back" enough times to make Xaviera Hollander proud. I'm really not sure how she manages to have time to save the day. I can't get through a Laurel K. Hamilton book these days without lots of eye rolling, several "Oh, you've got to be kidding me's" and many, many "What, agains?".
If you are into orgies every second page and worthless plots that go nowhere, then these last 8 books are for you. Me? I'd rather take a beating with a hardback copy of War and Peace.

It's so sad when a talented author writes such a worthless piece of crap.
Apparently Hamilton's head has grown so big that she thinks she can get away with printing garbage.
I've been a loyal reader of hers for years & I don't like the changes in her writing. I've noticed the decline in her last couple of books. She's become careless & lazy. Very, very lazy.
I assume that she's become like many other celebrities where it all comes down to money & an overly inflated ego. Well whatever the reasons for her lackluster writing these days, she has lost one loyal fan. Me.

Where are the vampire hunter books I fell in love with? Hamilton has completely lost focus... I miss Jeane Claude. I can't hate Rickard anymore, especially considering he was right all along.... This ridiculous plot development has turned Anita into a monster. *sigh* I want to keep loving this series... I really do. Plus, to add insult to injury, they are getting shorter and shorter too. I guess going mainstream has made Hamilton lazy.
