Editor's Notes and Comments:

Product Description:
Pat Williams has shown us what traits are vital for effective leadership and how to develop those skills in our children. In SOULS OF STEEL, he focuses on one specific trait: Character. He explains why character matters and why so many young people yesterday think issues like character, integrity, morality, and truth are relics of a bygone era. He shows us that to be individuals who contribute positively to our world they must have SOULS OF STEEL.

Rated by buyers 5 out of 5 stars - "A Must Read For All Parents"
A former business partner of mine would "do lunch" with my husband and I several times a week. When he needed a refill, he would lift up his glass and rattle his ice. Then he would complain about how bad service in America is. Of course, he would make sure everyone around him would hear what he had to say. My husband and I were extra kind to the wait staff, because he embarrassed us so badly. He was never taught to have character.
Pat Williams defines character as having integrity, determination, self control, manners, and tenacity. There are a few references to military families. In military families, character is expected of each member. Williams states that one way to instill character is to encourage military duty.
I always tell my children to be a good example for all their peers. If they demonstrate good character, maybe they will teach someone else to do the same. That is why it is important for people of good character to be leaders. Williams explains that people of character often have to stand alone in their stance.
My husband and I quit our jobs in order to concentrate on our business. We wanted to turn it into a family business. We wanted our kids to work with us. They do. Often, my husband and I feel like people think we are odd, because we make our kids work. However, work builds character.
Souls of Steel made me feel better about the "old-fashioned" ways I raise my children. I realize that children do not come with an instruction manual, but Souls of Steel is a big help. I definitely recommend this to all parents and educators.
