The book Invisible by Pete Hautman, the author of GODLESS, the National Book Award winner, is about how a kid named Doug tries to get by on his life after a tragic past. Doug is a junior in high school and isn't a very popular person at all. His only friend is the captain of the football team named Andy who is a lot more popular then Doug. Doug on the positive side is a smart kid, but his mother think he's a little crazed because she hears him always talking to himself. Doug has all kinds of therapy classes due to his mom hearing him talking to himself.
This book has an interesting ending one that would be worth reading. The author describes all of the littlest details that really wouldn't pay attention to most of the time. The author talks about what happens in the past and puts it in the book by making the main characters think about what happened in the past. This book would be recommended to ages 11 to 14.

The book Invisible by Pete Hautman is an unusual novel to read, with its odd characters and convincing writing. It takes place in present day while the main character flashes back to his past and tells about himself as a child. This book is about a teenage boy named Doug who doesn't fit in, but feels like he has his own identity. His best friend Andy is popular at school and is a quarterback on the football team. They spend as much time together as possible, and have a close relationship. Doug's parents do not approve of Andy and think he spends too much time with his best friend. In Doug's free time, he builds trains and bridges, but does not spend enough time interacting with others. His parents think this is a problem and are concerned about his well being. Do to this, they send Doug to a psychologist to overcome his problems. Doug does not agree with his parents, although he is very oblivious and gets himself into trouble around the neighborhood. In this book, Doug doesn't realize how his best friend and his troubles in his childhood have affected him, causing an unforeseen ending with a twist.
Invisible is definitely worth reading, although it is hard to catch on and understand the main character, Doug, in the beginning of the book. However, Doug being very different makes the book interesting to read, along with his best friend Andy. The author, Pete Hautman, is very compelling in his writing, adding plenty of humour and making it easy to connect with the book. The best part of this novel is the ending conclusion, since it is so unexpected and unusual. This causes the reader to do lots of thinking once finished with the book, while trying to put the pieces together. This is a great way to end a good book. As a result, Invisible has such a peculiar topic and surprising ending, it stands out from other books, making it unquestionably worth reading.

Invisible, by Pete Hautman, is a very unusual and interesting book. This book is about a boy named Doug who is very dedicated to building bridges out of matches. He has a friend named Andy who is a football player at the local high school. During the book Doug's parents begin to dislike Andy and the friendship Doug has with Andy. His parents also send him to a psychiatrist because they get concerned about his wellbeing.
Readers will like this book and think it's worth reading for a couple of reasons. The author Pete Hautman, during the book leaves good cliff hangers, which will make readers want to read more. Throughout the book unexpected and unusual things happen which makes the book stand out from other books. During the ending, certain events happen making the whole book come together in an easy way to understand. The characters in this book are very interesting because the author describes their past, making the event that's happening more interesting. During the book the setting gets described really well, making it easy to understand where the characters are and what they're doing. In my opinion, the book Invisible by Pete Hautman is very interesting making it a good read for people who like a book where there's a mystery and who like to read, read, and read!

The book Invisible, by Pete Hautman is very interesting. It's about two best friends, Andy and Doug. They both are always hanging out. Andy is more popular, plays a lot of sports, is really good at starting fires, and doing other active things, so pretty much he is physically fit. Doug is a kid who isn't popular, doesn't like sports, loves to doodle, gets good grades, and he has a hobbie: building big model bridges. And he loves matches. They both get into trouble. After an incident at the Tuttle place, Doug gets into a lot of trouble.
Invisible is a very good book. The book made it so I never wanted to take eyes off the words. It had some pretty good imagery during the book. It also had some sad, but intense scenes. It also had a little action in some parts, including fire. The bad thing was that it just left you there at the end of it thinking, and some people might not like those types of endings. Another reason why people might not like the books ending was because it is really confusing; for some readers they would have to reread it a lot. Those are some reasons why I liked and didn't like this book.

I guess you can say that I'm not only disturbed, I'm obsessed." The book Invisible, By Pete Hautman is truly a amazing book. This fictional book is placed at Douge's house and his school. Douge is the main character and he gets bullied every day at school and he has friend that is completly different thn him. He is a star football player and He is considered very popular. Douge's only escape from school is his basment and his railraod city made out of matches. Through out the book, Doug get more and more beat up and picked on for the thng he do. I think this book is funny, Disturbing and d at th same time. I think 12 or over kids should read it because it has thins in the book that is not sutible for young kids to read or do. Read this book. Now.
