Product Description:
Nobody understands Wallace Wallace. This reluctant school football hero has been suspended from the team for writing an unfavorable book report of Old Shep, My Pal. But Wallace won't tell a lie-he hated every minute of the book! Why does the dog in every classic novel have to croak at the end? After refusing to do a rewrite, his English teacher, who happens to be directing the school play Old Shep, My Pal, forces him go to the rehearsals as punishment. Although Wallace doesn't change his mind, he does end up changing the play into a rock-and-roll rendition, complete with Rollerblades and a moped!

My 13 year old son had to read this book for a school book report.
He very much enjoyed this book which made the report easier.
I think he would say "read this book".

Funny and good book that has a great lesson about honesty. Great for students in middle school grades 4-7.

My son was put off by the title of the book because he didn't want to read about any dead dogs but here is his review: 'the boy in the book- Wallace-doesn't like books about dogs that die. So when Wallace (who can't tell a lie) gets detention (for writing what he really felt about a 'dead dog' book), he sees the beginning of a play the school is doing and it's about a dead dog. Wallace ended up helping to make the play into something fantastic & changed it so no dog died. It was a funny, uplifting read.'

No more dead dogs is a great book. The book makes you wonder, and have to think. You also have to fill in the peices until the very end. It is about a boy named Wallace Wallace, (yes thats his name)he was the star of the football team until detention. He wrote a bad review of a book and his teacher gave him detention until he wrote a good one. For detention he was with the drama club and after being with them for a while he decided to quit football. Why you will have to read and find out.

This is a cute book. I believe if you like dogs it is very entertaing for a young reader. Not that others wouldn't like the book, but it is a good book for someone around ten or twelve years of age.
