I was fortunate enough to read the draft copy of this book - it is outstanding. The Macon Whoopee is one of the most original nicknames in all of sports. The original incarnation of the Macon hockey team in 1974 is a classic story. It combines humour, human drama, and pathos all into one package. Read this book if you read no other sports related or human interest related books in the subsequent year. The Gris and Mr. Buckley have written a classic.
