ISBN number 0871913399 - This book has a library binding with a picture of Evonne Goolagong on the cover. That's the only actual picture in the book - the rest are illustrations by Harold Henriksen. The illustrations are mostly bad to average.
Evonne Goolagong's life and career are concisely recapped, from her youth in Australia to her marriage to Roger Cawley in 1975. This isn't in depth, but does cover the highlights and has some nice quotes included. Nice, quick read for a book report or for budding athletes and sports fans.
The text of the book is, I hope, aimed at very young readers. The sentences are simple and short and sometimes over-simplify things rather than go into accurate detail. For example, "going walkabout" is described as "the Aboriginal habot of returning to the bush for a period of time". Not great, but not awful.
