When coaching tennis you can get in a rut. This book is great for some new ideas to make practice fun. Even the games for little kids are adaptable for all ages.
Most irritating, though, were the typos. I am at a loss as to how this made it to print! Example: "Split the students uiD3 on each side...point will continue unt-:Il someone misses the ball..missed the ball rec@eves 1 letter..." Very frustrating when you have to interpret the entire paragraph! Granted, another reviewer found out is was a software problem - but why publish it!
Getting past those typos, though, those of us with growing frustration over lax grammer will still enjoy it. A great reference to keep handy when you need to spice up practice or lessons. We all need a little help now and then!

This is a fantastic book. I have started using many of the drills and games in my tennis lessons. So far I have only scratched the surface of the book, but even that has been very helpful for me.
Most students want to have fun during a tennis lesson. This book has lots of fun games. Some of the games and drills I have been using already, but the good thing is that I found a new way to do them. Many of those ways were improvements over the method I was already using.
Also there are many drills and games designed for more than 4 players at a time. Most of my teaching career has been limited to teaching 4 players or less at a time, so this is a big help for me.
The only thing that might annoy you are the spelling mistakes. After speaking with the author I found out it wasn't her spelling but OCR software problems that produced those spelling mistakes. I'm sure her subsequent book won't have those problems. Don't worry everything is easily understandable anyway.
Overall this is a great book, it even has games, activities and teaching tips for munchkin tennis players. This book is a great resource for any teaching pro.

Most of the drills require more than two players (often difficult to come by) and it is geared much more towards the tennis coach than the every day player. I would only recommend this book if you don't mind typos and are coaching fairly large groups. There are a couple of decent drills.

This is a really great example of great tennis literature. Although, I must admit, it is often not hard to come by, books like this truly are. It is a real gem, and taught myself and my fellow tennis players out here just how the game can be played hard, but also how to incorporate fun into it very easily. I recommend this book to anyone, beginner or USTA pro, Satellite player or retired player, because it is so clear and concise. The book makes the game fun. Thanks, Tina!
