I read the reviews on this book and thought let me just pick it up and see what it was all about... and i loved it..but i will say this..i hate the fact that i have to wait until Aug for the subsequent part...but you know what it is worth the wait...

It's true... the story will keep you turning the pages, for sure.
The story centers on the love affair of Emerald and her very first love, Dollar. Dollar was a bonified balla and the dream of every woman.
Being the off-spring of a bi-racial couple (her mother Filipino and her father a handsome Black man) Emerald thought her looks were God's gift to men, but Dollar slipped one up on her and proved her wrong. He used her mercilessly. (But I won't spill out how - buy the book for an interesting read.)
The storyline has a twist of Sistah Souljah's book "The Coldest Winter Ever", with a spin-off of the author's version of revenge for a hood diva.
According to the author, there's a series to complete the story, which part 2 ("M.oney O.ver Niggas") was supposed to be released in 2007.
Although, I couldn't find the book online (and was disappointed about this), I'd definitely purchase it.
The author did a job well done on putting her spin on a hood story. ('By the way Nichelle, how did Emerald and Sissy's [Emerald's sister] mother die????)
