Character and integrity seem to be on the line daily in our lives and in those around us. Whether in the office or on the field of play, rules are stretched and often broken to gain an edge. Examples are rampit but names like Bonds, Clemens, and Enron come to mind. Where is one to turn to get advice on gaining that edge while maintaining your morals and keeping to the rules of play? This book is a great place to start and I look forward to more from the author despite the airbrushed picture.

"The Competitive Edge" is a great book. It has given me some good suggestions on ways I can improve how I deal with certain situations in my life. I liked how there was a good balance of sports and business examples.

The Competitive Edge is applicable in all areas of life - from the workplace, to personal relationships, to raising your children. In a day and age where parents are fighting on their children's sports fields and winning at all costs is the mantra held in high regard, these seven practical principles are something every parent, athlete, and business person should read and apply to their lives and work to impart in the lives of their children.

I read this book when it very first came out but continue to really think about what it had to say. I consider myself a good person and like to think that when push came to shove I would make wise life choices. But the temptations are always there and Jeff Brown's book really made me think about what I would lose in hopes to gain a little more money or a little bit of fame. Integrity is one of the most valuable, precious things we can ever strive for or gain and his examples and metaphors put it in a new light for me. I recommend this book to anyone who is driven and cares about winning in a way that others notice and respect. Great book and a great reminder to live a life where character counts.

I am a nurse and found this book to be very helpful. Dr. Brown writes in a way that is easy to follow and that makes the application of these principles seem realistic. I would definitely encourage others to read this book.
