Product Description:
Kicks Anybody Can Learn!
This book covers twelve basic kicks that are fundamental to many martial arts, particularly Taekwondo. The kicks are well illustrated; they are easy enough to learn even for somebody who has no martial arts knowledge. It also covers stretching, target kicking, application and conditioning exercises. If you want to learn the kicks on your own the best possible way, this is the book for you.

Being the author of several books on the subject of kicking, I often find myself being somewhat overly critical of other author's works on the same subject. I don't know if this is a good thing or not, so I will leave it up to you to decide.
I picked this book up about two months ago and read through it in less than 30 minutes, and now, two months later I am finally getting the opportunity to write this review.
I am not sure if the author intended this book to be an introductory guide to the various kicks primarily associated with Tae Kwon Do and some styles of Karate, or if he intended it to be a learning aid in which to actually learn the kicks he demonstrates in this book. If his intent was the former, then I would have to say that he did a fairly good job in presenting a basic overview of the basic kicking techniques. If however, he intended the reader to be able to learn how to actually execute the kicks he demonstrates in this book, then it is sorely lacking.
This book includes plenty of photographs demonstrating each of the kicks he presents, but the descriptions of how to execute each kick if rather slim with at the most 2 to 3 paragraphs of text to go along with the photographs.
I did notice one HUGE problem with the demonstration of the various Hook Kicks that the author shows in this book. If you look closely at how the author executes these kicks, you can plainly see the problems that his method of executing these kicks can have on your lower back. I don't know if the author is aware of this fact or not, but the way he demonstrates these kicks in this book is not conducive to keeping you from hurting your back.
