If you are into Shrugs (which you should be if you are reading this)this book is for you. The book isn't very big, but so informative. This book will tell you all about the exercises that can be done for your traps. Do you want big traps? Step 1: Buy this book! Step 2: Buy a trap bar! Step 3: Work hard at it and keep it up, and you will achieve success. The book does go on into stuff that might bore the average person, but what is helpful is soooo helpful.

This book is informative in the sense that it covers a lot of variations of performing the shrug. I thought the variations and descriptions on how to perform the recommended exercises adequate. I wish the book would have included a description of every exercise it mentioned but it did not. I also think the pictures could have enhanced the exercise descriptions better. Overall, the book is worth the money but if you are new to lifting then you will need to supplement this book with another to ensure you perform the exercises described with proper form.

I own the book. My copy is now dog earred because I have read and re read it so many times. Since I very first bought it I have read some of the magazines and saw other articles by Kelso, not just about technique, but also reporting on powerlifting events. I found out the man has an enviable reputation for his research and reporting. I trust kelso. I hope he has another book coming out soon.

This book has a lot of things I do not like about it. First of all, the format of the book does not make sense. The author will go rambling on about things that do not matter, mention an exercise pages before he explains it, or it has a picture of an exercise he won't even mention. It gives some good trapezius exercises, but you will be confused because he does not give any pictures on how to perform them. There are exercises, for example the highpull, as he calls it, with a trap bar, which have pictures of them doing it but they are not explained at all. They are pretty much self explanitory, but still unprofessional with the author not explaining it. Another unprofessional thing about this book is all the typographical errors in it. The very first hour I started reading and looking through this book, I was disappointed because I had already found 3 typos in it. Even though they are just typos, it makes you not want to trust this guy, because who would want to trust someone who it appears as if they didn't even proofread their book?
