Editor's Notes and Comments:
Product Description:
In this clever board book children can learn about size and discover 'what is in the box?' through hide-and-seek! On each spread a question is posed and the answer is revealed when the reader pulls the sliding panel up on the top of the page. As the story progresses, each box becomes bigger and bigger as do the items in each box!

I'm re-buying this book for my one-year-old because she loves it so much. As the previous reviewer mentioned, it's easy for an enthusiastic toddler to rip the tabs from the pages. It's definitely a book to read with a parent "helping." My daughter adores this style of tab because it's easy to pull (she could do it at nine months). The illustrations are appealing and whimsical. There IS a pattern to the illustrations on the pages around the tabs...the animal outside the box on one page is inside the box on the subsequent page. My daughter loves all the books from this series, especially "Who Lives Here?"

The very first day my son got this book in the car, all we heard was "Uh-oh" a few times and, just like that, all the tabs were ripped out. Other Mini Movers books (the sadly out of print Knock, Knock!, Bang, Bang!, Munch, Munch!, and Tap, Tap!) are much less fragile.
Now that we got the flimsiness issue out of the way, on to the content. The drawings around the tab give incorrect hints as to what is 'inside' each box. Just because a child sees an elephant's trunk doesn't mean it's not a dog inside - the elephant is in the box on the subsequent page. Furthermore, even though the 'boxes' are supposed to go from tiny to giant, the actual tabs are all the same size - I certainly wouldn't blame a child for being confused! Give this one a pass.
