Editor's Notes and Comments:
Product Description:
Despite being disdained by the German Army’s professional officer corps, the military branch of the Nazi SS security organisation grew from an initial strength of only a handful of battalions at the outbreak of war in 1939 to hundreds of thousands of troops in dozens of divisions. The battlefield reputation of the premier armoured and mechanised divisions would become second to none; lavishly equipped and regarded as utterly reliable, they were thrown into many desperate battles on both Western and Eastern fronts, often achieving remarkable results. Illustrated with rare photographs, this very first of four Men-at-Arms titles details the organisation, uniforms and insignia of the Waffen-SS.

I'm Italian and I deal with reenactment, different historical periods between the WWII. Having achieved yet another uniform, I decided to buy this book because I find the most complete with regard to uniformologia.

Gordon Williamson did well, again. Fantastic place to start with for a specific unit divisional history studies. Sections for each unit include: names used, commanders, campaigns, insignia and for most of them - colour example of uniforms/wepons/field gear.
Its by no means an ultimate knowledge base for any division listed, but thats the excellent starting point.
My only doubt is: why are those Osprey guys not including any bibliography in it ?!?
