It's a romance / atlantis / paranormal / warrior book. And the story just seemed really dumb to me. The world that the author created was not strong enough to convince me, the reader, that it was real...nor was it good enough.
Didn't finish it...

This is definitely a different world from the one we know. People are well accustomed to walking down the street in company with all manner of mystical beings, hey, they're even vampires in the US Senate, but one secret that's been kept better than most is the existence of Atlantis, but that's all about to change. For seven years, Conlan, the high prince of Atlantis has been held captive and subjected to stomach turning torture by Anubisa, the vampire goddess. His people had lost hope of his survival, but now he's back and ready to kick some butt, accompanied by his totally hot personal guard, the Seven (and yes we're eagerly anticipating books about each and every one). In his quest for vengeance Conlan finds himself sidetracked by an inexplicable and obsessive attraction to a human female, Riley Dawson, a social worker with astounding powers normally only found within his own kind. Throw in a few rogue Atlanteans, a power mad vampire Senator and Riley's own mysterious sister and you have a recipe for whole scale carnage. However, this doesn't manage to dampen the incendiary passion between Conlan and Riley. We loved every thing about this book from the explosive action, to the sardonic modern humour, to the fiery romance, and cannot wait to learn more about these fascinating warriors and their future counterparts. Bring it on!!
