Product Description:
From part of the book's preface: 'There are two portions to this supplement. The very first part consists of a list of answers to those exercises whose solution is not contained in the text. The only general omissions are those exercises of a theoretical nature that are straightforward applications of the theory in the text. The second part of the supplement contains program listings for the algorithms in the text. The programs have been written in structured FORTRAN and executed using the AMDAHL 470 V/5 computer at Youngstown State University. The programs demonstrate how the results in the examples were obtained and are sufficiently general to apply to any of the exercises in the text that requitre computer generated results. Appropriate comments have been included to explain the location of each step in the algorithms. Comments have also been placed at points where, for more efficient operation, the program deviates slightly from the algorithm in the text. All programs with the exception of algorithm 10.6 have been written in single precision mode, but are easily modified to run in double precision. Algorithm 10.6 is listed in double precision mode because the number of calculation involved in this program requires the increased accuracy.
