The Naked Gun series needs no review, but here we go...
These movies are hilarious to some but not to all. They're meant for a certain type of person that likes Hot Shots, Dracula: Dead and Loving It, and any other silly but enjoyable film. Movies made for the goofy at heart.

In this collection you get one of the funniest spoofs outside of Airplane!Leslie Nielsen is a riot with a great supporting cast in each of the Naked Gun movies. The Naked Gun is like a spin off from the orginal tevelvision series, Police Squad starring the bumbling officer Lt. Frank Drebin (Leslie Nielsen). This collection is a bare bones collection with the expeption of commentaries from the Zucker Brothers and Jim Abrahams (the creators of Airplane as well). It would of been nice to have funny outakesand deleted scenes. The collection includes:
The Naked Gun: From the Files of Police Squad: Starring Leslie Nielsen, Ricardo Montilbon, Pricilla Presley, George Kennedy, O.J. Simpson, and Reggie Jackson. With the Queen of England visiting Los Angeles, the mayor appoints Drebin and his Police Squad to secure the Queens visit and make sure nothing happens. When Nordberg (Simpson) stumbles upon a lead at the docks, he gets gunned down. This leads Drebin and Ed (Kennedy) to Vincent Ludwig (Montalban). As Drebin gets closer, he suspects Ludwig is conspiring to assasinate the Queen but looses the evidence in the most funniest way. In fact Drebin bumbles his way to Ludwig and what ensues is the a hillarious ending. Will Drebin find the actual assasinator? There are laughs every minute. Nielsen and the whole cast are hillarious. If you love Airplane! you will love this.
Naked Gun 2 1/2: The Smell of Fear: starring Leslie Nielsen, Priscilla Presley, George Kennedy, OJ Simpson, and Robert Goulet. This time Robert Goulet is the villian and he conspires along with the big energy (both poluting and nuclear) companies to not allow a scientist to make a speech about investments in clean energy. The gang from Police Squad are back from the orginal. Frank and Jane (Presley) are a hot item. This doesn't suffer from horrible sequel-itis. The laughs are hillarious and just as funny as The Naked Gun. While the ending isn't as good as The Naked Gun, the movie as a whole is very humorous.
The Naked Gun 33 1/3: The Final Insult: starring the late Anna Nicole Smith, Fred Ward, Leslie Nielsen, George Kennedy, OJ Simpson, and Priscilla Presley. Frank and Jane are married and Frank had already decided to retire from Police Squad. He loves to cook and clean. Ed (Kennedy) and Nordberg (Simpson) come to Frank's house to get him to come back and help with a case. They need him to follow a woman who they believe he new (Anna Nicole Smith). He also goes undercover in jail and becomes cellmates with Rocco (Ward). Bumbling Frank realizes that Rocco is planning to set off a bomb at the Oscars. Like The Naked Gun, the ending is hillarious when the Oscars begin. You would think after the sequel that The Naked Gun series would suffer. What you get is another hillarious encounter with Frank Drebin and Police Squad.
If you like spoofs, this would definately be a great addition to your DVD library. The pictures are great but the only downside to this collection are the lack of extras.

The Naked Gun Gift Set contains all three of the films and boy you will be laughing like crazy when you get this baby home. Of course the original is the best, but the sequels are enjoyable as well. Leslie Nielsen has great comic timing and Priscilla Presley is not too shabby either. I highly recommend this awesome collection. Enjoy!

The Naked Gun DVD Gift Set.
This collection features all three films in the Naked Gun series, which are The Naked Gun: From The Files Of Police Squad! (1988), The Naked Gun 2 and ½: The Smell Of Fear (1991), and The Naked Gun 33 and 1/3: The Final Insult. Three discs total. Each film has trailers and commentaries as bonuses. All films are the theatrical cuts.
This review is strictly for the box set itself, and its content. If you're looking for reviews of the films themselves, I've posted them on their respective item's pages.

This set is handy because it combines all three of the Naked Gun films into a single, affordable collection. The commentary tracks are interesting to listen to if you're a fan, as well. This is a nice alternative to having to hunt down each film separately, not to mention on average it's cheaper than buying each one on its own.
Sadly, the set isn't perfect. My biggest complaint is with the lack of extras. These are the same movies that are sold separately, with commentaries and trailers as the only bonuses. When are we going to get the deleted scenes from the very first film on a DVD? So far, these have only shown up in TV airings. And why is there no behind-the-scenes footage or interviews with cast and crew?
There are two different versions of this set, the DVD Gift Set version and the Triple Feature version. Both versions are exactly the same, apart from packaging. The Gift Set is larger, with each film in its own "as sold separately" case, while the Triple Feature condenses all three films to fit in a single-sized DVD case. You can't go wrong either way, but generally the Triple Feature is cheaper.
It's great to get all of these movies in one convenient spot, but I am extremely disappointed by the lack of bonus material. Hopefully a special edition release of the movies will come eventually. Paramount seems to be re-releasing a number of their older releases as special editions with bonus material, and I'm hoping this series will eventually get that treatment.
Thumbs up for the movies, thumbs down for the extras-lacking box set.
