I bought this book recently and I love it. I think this would be a great supplement to a General Biology course, but is too detailed for regular use in a high school biology course, with the exception of AP. I think it is a little too detailed for a high school bio class, although it covers everything that I was introduced to in my Bio 110 course.
A slight caution--many people may see the title and bright cover thinking this would be a 'fun' way to learn or a great 'fun' gift to someone interested in science. In reality, it's set up like a textbook. It's meant to be a serious aide to someone learning biology. In that sense, it's a great tool, but this isn't like the coloring books we used as kids! So don't be misled.
For those of you looking for a supplement to a high school class, perhaps the "Biology Coloring WORKBOOK" would be a better choice.

I have purchased this book three times now. I buy it to give to students who want more, but have limited time or attention span. Some of the material is outdated, but for a very first year book, it remains without peer.

Coloring books are fun and this one is educational. Probably good for highschool teachers or to suppplement someones college course in bio, but the written material leaves something to be desired.

This book is VERY detailed...the coloring is definately geared at High School level+. The details in the descriptions and pictures are very good, and the hands on approach of coloring gives a real feel for where parts are located. Excellent for home-schooling!

I found this book a bit dissapointing to use as a supplement for high school biology students. The coloring pages are too wordy and not user friendly.
