Oh, wow! I didn't think popular childrens literature touched on such concepts as parents losing a job! But this one did and with much success. This is told from the point of view of a young boy who simply wants a pet dog. But his father loses his job. This is a beautiful display of innocence and love. I have to admit I shed a tear.

You might not like this book.The best part of this story is when he finds a cat in the trashcan.And he all ways wanted a dog.And I did not like the book becuse it got boring when you just read it all the time.But you might like it.But it was kind of good.
