Product Description:
A Warrior Of Immortal Powers
He was a mighty Scottish warrior who lived in a world bound by ancient laws and timeless magic. But no immortal powers could prepare the laird of Castle Brodie for the lovely accursed lass who stood before him. A terrible trick of fate had sent her 700 years back in time and into his private chamber to tempt him with her beauty—and seduce him with a desire he could never fulfill. For this woman he burned to possess was also
the woman he had foresworn to destroy.
A Woman Caught In The Mists Of Time
When Lisa felt the earth move under her feet, the fiercely independent 21st-century woman never dreamed she was falling...into another century. But the powerful, naked warrior who stood glaring down at her was only too real...and too dangerously arousing. Irresistibly handsome he might be, but Lisa had no intention of remaining in this savage land torn by treachery and war. How could she know that her seductive captor had other plans for her...plans that would save her from a tragic fate? Or that this man who had long ago forsaken love would defy time itself to claim her for his own....

This is another Karen Moning book that features characters from the MacKeltar storyline. All I can say is...READ THIS BOOK! It is a great mixture of magic, highlands, passion & humor. The characters are well developed and get you itching to read the rest of the MacKeltar books (#1 "Kiss of the Highlander" - (Drustans story),#2 "Dark Highlander" (drustans twin), #3 "Immortal Highlander" (Adam Black - side character interacting w/ MacKeltars), #4 "Spell of the Highlander" (part of MacKeltar clan), #5 "Highlander's Touch" (seperate story linked w/ Adam Black), #6 "Into the Dreaming" - a novella that features the fairy queen mentioned in the other books. NOTE: This is my suggestion for the order to read them in. There is not real official order in which to read them. All I know is once you finish this book, you will be itching to read the rest. ENJOY!!!

Simply put, this was another great story in Moning's Highlander series. It 's a stand alone read but I would recommend reading the whole series (7 books) for a complete understanding of the story behind the Fae. Loved it!!!

At the risk of bursting everyone's bubble, I picked this book up because I am a huge fan of time-travel novels, and a little romance doesn't hurt, either. My pet peeve, however, is an author who writes a novel set in an historical time-frame and does not bother to research the period carefully. This book is a horrid example of an author not taking the time to research properly and instead writes a book full of inaccuracies and errors. Three quick examples: firearms did not exist in 14th century Scotland, kitchens often caught fire so were located in separate buildings not in the castle itself, and interior staircases had not been invented yet. And please, when Duncan is called a Lothario, that play wasn't even written until the 17th Century. You may say I am nitpicking apart a supposedly rip-roaring story, but good scholarship is paramount to decent literature. If anyone wants to read some really, really good time travel books, beautifully researched and written, check out the Outlander series by Diana Gabaldon.

Karen Marie Moning's THE HIGHLANDER'S TOUCH benefits from veteran narrator Phil Gigante's voice as it tells of Lisa, a 21st-century woman who falls into another century into the hands of a mighty Scottish warrior with immortal powers. Tragedy, battle and romance blend in a thought-provoking timeslip fantasy perfect for science fiction and fantasy collections.
