Small book that is easy to read, but somewhat out of date (as another reviewer noted, no info about some of the newer options like hip resurfacing). Read the excerpts here; e.g., very first few pages are a little bit cynical, but guess that goes with the title.

Unfortunately, this book does not go into any detail that you can't easily find on the web. It's out of date; no coverage of the new hip resurfacing techniques.

It's always good to know how to avoid surgery if you can. I need knee replacements so this was especially interesting to me. Good information.
