This book had multiple grammar errors, and looked like everything was cut and pasted from (probably) the Deluxe Study Guide, and only half was pasted correctly. Some of the material would say refer to figure #, and the figure would be wrong or non-existent. Chapter review questions were labeled wrong, RIP and IGRP were listed as Classless in one part of the book and Classful in another. Explanations would say now I am going to show you how to do it, and then it moved on to another section. Lammle is great, but go with his Deluxe version not this one.

I like the book's straight-forward approach to all of the technical information. The author doesn't go off onto a tangent anywhere, and he provides the needed technical information in a very easy to understand manner. However, I ran into a glaring error. On the review questions for Chapter 5, question 4's answer is listed as C, but the description matches answer A (which is the correct answer). I understand that typos can happen, but it seems pretty important to me that any typos NOT come in review questions. There are also other less-critical typos peppered throughout the book. I think Sybex needs a new editor.

This book may not be as descriptive as some like, but I found it great for reading just before the test to brush up on things. For a more in depth book Lammle has the full study guide as well.

I recommend this book for someone who knows the material and just wants to fine tune their knowledge just before the test. otherwise, purchase the book in the above link.

Todd Lammle is an author who says what needs to be said, like a human being. This book very matter-of-fact-ly states the objectives of the CCNA exam and is results oriented. This book begins by laying the path to understanding each component to passing the exam and just works down the line, to ensure a proper understanding of the material. If you're looking for more explanation of theory behind a lot of the objectives, try the Study Guide, 6th ed.

My book was sent in excellent condition. Good book for help with getting certified in CCNA. Could be more descriptive though. The test asks questions that this doesn't cover.
