Rated by buyers 5 out of 5 stars - Always ready for a happy ending!
I enjoy Sandra Brown's books since there's always a man and woman who fall madly in love, even though they fight it. It always ends well with everyone happy and blissfully married.

Rated by buyers 2 out of 5 stars - Very dated early Brown effort
Laura Nolan is an heiress so deeply in debt when her dad dies and has to sell the mansion that has become her life. James Paden, the bad boy from wrong side of the tracks left town years ago to make his mark on the professional racing circuit. Now wealthy, he returns to their hometown determined to own to two things a guy like him only dreamed of growing up - the house at 22 Indigo Place and Laura Nolan. The two form an unlikely partnership when he suggests a marriage of convenience that will allow her to remain in her beloved home. Although he releases the unleashed passion buried within her, does he really love her?

Yet another dated over-age virgin deflowered by a reformed bad boy with a vicious streak story that Brown has mined to death. This is a really early effort and it shows, from the groovy clothing descriptions to the sadistic way James treats Laura when he discovers how "innocent" she is - acceptable behavior in an era when "Dynasty" was a force to be reckoned with.

I love Sandra Brown, I have almost all the books on tape that she has writen.

Rated by buyers 5 out of 5 stars - GIVE IT A READ......
GIVE THIS BOOK A TRY i have seen some of the reviews and hope you will give it a read. If you like the i was poor badboy wanting the rich girl, i can't have her but now i have money to buy her out, i mean you will like it. It's simple yes but has a sandra brown touch to it, keep in mind that you have alot of stories about rich girl poor guy theme but it's how the author writes about it that makes a difference...This is one of my favourite books and hope you think of it as such

Everybody has a different opinion when writting a review if we all had the same reviews or opinions it would be boring. Reviews can sometimes down play a really good book or up play a really bad book its up to us to read the book and judge for ourselfs and draw our own conclusion thats the best thing about a review its like a silent debate....

Rated by buyers 1 out of 5 stars - Oh, Puleeeeze....
This romance was my very first Sandra Brown book and I was ready for some light, quick reading. Much of it was just as described in the reviews and what I expected.

But, to start with, James was so angry when he found out his new wife was a virgin that he refused to have sex with her for weeks after the wedding. What was that about??? Then when they got over that "horrible situation" it got even more unbelievable.

The main character, Laura, just can't seem to figure out that her husband, James, actually loves her no matter how doting she is, and she lives on the edge of a nervous breakdown because she's so worried he'll leave her.

He showed love for her over and over, in ways most men never would even think of, not even counting the hot sex, and she still didn't get it, just because he didn't speak the words (of course she didn't say anything either). He spent weeks looking for the beloved horses she'd had to sell and bought them back, and rehired her beloved housekeeper who had to be let go due to money problems. And she still can't figure it out? I couldn't help but think.... stupid, stupid, stupid.

I don't know.... maybe I should just go back to mysteries.
