after reading the very first book, i was not very exited about reading this one, but since i bought it, might as well. and what a plesant suprise!ok, so it does get a bit boring, but not as bad as the first. as i say, the ending it very good and should be read for that alone. as much as i want to, i wont spoil it. great book, i rate it M15+(moderate violence, sexual references, coarse language)

Continuing the story from Aliens: Earth Hive, Nightmare Asylum follows Bueller, Wilks, and Billie as they manage to escape the slaughter of the rest of the Marines they were sent to the Alien's home world with. They return to earth, only to find it completely overrun by aliens with few human survivors. The trio manages to escape to the cold confines of space, just to flee into the arms of a madman.
This book is fast paced, full of action and great character moments. It was adapted from Dark Horse comics graphic novel Aliens Nightmare Asylum 1569712174. This comic book version uses Hicks and Newt, but the Steve Perry version that doesn't is as good, which is a huge compliment.
The book is a fast, fun read, perfect for light vacation reading if being scared is your cup of tea, because this book is frightening, one of the scariest of the aliens series.
Highly recommended to fans of the Aliens films and sci-fi fans everywhere.

I really enjoyed Aliens: Nightmare Asylum. The very first book (Aliens: Earth Hive) was enjoyable, but not really that great. Nightmare Asylum, on the other hand, is clever, interesting, and has great characters. It isn't the greatest book I've ever read, but for pure sci-fi alien entertainment, pick this one up.

I was excitied to get this when the package came but when I opened it, I was dissapionted. I thought I was getting the graphic novel verson instead of the book. So if you want pitures don't get this one, get the other Nightmare Asylum.

Another great book written by Perry. In this one, a military glutton has plans to make his own army of Xenomorphs to reclaim earth. On his military installment (the nightmare asylum) the two characters from the very first book end up fighting for the lives again. They are not just fighting the aliens that the madman is "making", but also fighting his soilders as well. This was a great book as a sequel to Earth Hive, and should be read by fans of the books.
