Editor's Notes and Comments:

Product Description:
West End Television are planning a new situation-comedy series, to be called The Struttters. From the outset, things go horribly wrong with the new series. Odd accidents—if they are accidents—remove, one by one, the sharp-tongued Production Assistant, the self-effacing script-writer, the hearty Floor Manager. Death even takes from us the revolting Yorkshire terrier, Cocky, who’s the idol of the indestructible Dame Aurelia Howarth, theatrical star for fifty years.

There’s no discernible pattern in all this, but Simon Brett’s regular sleuth, the bit-player Charles Paris, is confidently on the trail of another mass murderer. But the bizarre solution, brilliantly led up to, surprises even him.

Rated by buyers 5 out of 5 stars - Oh what rapier wit!
This is an excellent book, and the satire is really wicked! Simon Brett writes with intelligence, and when it comes to the denouement, his books never cease to surprise. The look that he gives us up close and personal of backstage in a television sitcom is truly enlightening. Brett knows whereof he speaks when he deals with the intricacies of television sitcom filming. In this book a series of deadly accidents seem to be plaguing people affiliated with the sitcom that Charles Paris is acting a bit part in. These accidents look unrelated, and he has a hard time figuring out the connection between these seemigly unrelated incidents. But when he does figure it out, he can hardly believe it himself. Yes, they are murders, and the motive that he determines is behind these killings is so bizarre that Paris doesn't think he has it right. Brett is a consumate writer and his biting wit kept me turning pages.

Rated by buyers 4 out of 5 stars - About the best Charles Paris mystery
This actor/detective is truly unique to this genre. If you haven't discovered Charles Paris, I highly recommend that you do. As an actor, I find him wildly amusing and engrossing. I've never read a Charles Paris mystery I didn't like. Situation Tragedy has a particularly fabulous cast of characters. With the British sit com being what it is these days (on the upswing: AbFab, Keeping up Appearances, etc.) this book can't help but entertain. Loved it.
