Product Description:
Rando Masashi, a self-centered, brash karate star, was the victim of a horrific bus accident that left him comatose, his face terribly disfigured by extensive burns. Genius plastic surgeon Dr. Manabe saved Rando's life and went to work on his face, gradually reconstructing it based on a photograph found in the wreckage of the bus. When Rando wakes up from his coma, a year has passed, and Dr. Manabe has made remarkable progress. But in a cruel twist of fate, the photo that the doctor used as his reference was not a picture of Rando, but of Rina Kurimi, the girl whom Rando has a crush on!
The war is on for Rando's affections when Natsuo and Nozomi finally meet! Which of the class's toughest girls will have their way with our not-quite-male, not-quite-shemale hero? Then, Rando finally meets the person whose face he's been wearing all this time: Rina's real twin sister! Will the return of Yuna spell the end of Rando's womanhood...and when the bandages come off, will his chances with Rina be over?

Well, volume six wraps up the Pretty Face series in a way that has a lot of funny (the whole 'graduation tree' thing is very funny) and resolves the Yuna-Rando thing effectively although not with any real panache. We are treated to some of the author's ideas for endings that had been rejected by the publisher (and may I just say THANK YOU, PUBLISHER! Those endings were orders of magnitude lamer than the one we ended up with).

This is one of the best manga series' I've ever read! It literally is laugh-out-loud funny! I think even people who don't get into manga would like this - but you have to have an adult sense of humor. No one under the age of 14 (for girls) and 16 (for boys) should read this!

...more of the same, save for one small detail. Yuna... is... BACK.
Seems the old gal has caught a case of the bad homesickness and who should she run into but Rando. Of course she thinks he's Rina at first, but it doesn't take long until the whole fiasco is exposed and Yuna gives Rando an ultimatum that would mean an end to his chances with the love of his high school life.
The endgame is actually pretty light in page count, but plays through with the conveinient deus ex gags we've come to expect from the rest of the series. The rather quick ending does wrap itself up pretty easily though, with a bit of resolution for Rando (as himself, not as a faux Yuna) and a return to the status quo, leaving the door open for a return (should sales or boredom bring the author back).
The volume includes a rather longish bonus chapter that pads out the rest of the page count in another zany adventure that even includes the newly returned Yuna.
In any case, for a decent enough trope-ish series, volume 6 is a decent enough trope-ish ending that doesn't make me regret getting into it, but also makes me glad they didn't drag this pretty average title on for mulitudes of volumes as they plainly could have done.
