Answers every important question you could have about the rules and play of football (College and NFL). Gives you the all important information. Not overly wordy or drawn out. Very clear and well organized. Has a good glossary of terms. The best I've found.

I came upon this book as a complete novice to the game of football (Call me un-american as you will, but I've just always been an non-athletic type).Aside from a few games I went to with my family,I simply had no exposure to the game. The games became a confusing blur to me. I then fortunately came upon this book..
This book started with the basics of football (the field, how it is played,it's history, the equipment, et cetera). After that, a wonderful review of both the defense and offense and all the actions they could take It then moved on to the positions and all the actions they could take ( This was of the most interest to me because this has always been the part I've had the most difficulty with). This, along with the section on plays, were essential to my growing knowledge of football. The last chapters on the essential players and coaches of football proved to be a great appendix to reference back too.
All in all, a great guide to football for someone who has no knowledge of the sport.
