Rated by buyers 4 out of 5 stars - Hidden Myths of Harry Potter
An interesting book which contains a lot of information on the background of many of the people/places/things in the Harry Potter books, although I have some doubts over the accuracy of some of the information it contains.
The book is a good reference for information on people such as Nicholas Flamel, Circe and Paracelsus and for the origin of names (e.g. Patil)while most of the creature information is also interesting. One problem is in regard to the Unicorn. The Unicorn legend actually came about over the misidentification of the Rhinocerus and was made by European and Middle Eastern traveleres coming back from Africa.
On the whole I was very satisfied with the book and would reccommend it to anyone who is interested in the background of these legendary people, animals and places/things referenced in the Harry Potter books.

Rated by buyers 2 out of 5 stars - Short and inadequate book.
I bought this book from Amazon.com. I couldn't have the chance to explore the item from the net. When I took it in my hands, I really was disappointed. The idea is perfect. But this book should have been like an encyclopedia, with maps, illustrations and all the stuff. But it was a short, very brief version of the huge idea.. but again, the idea was perfect.

Rated by buyers 1 out of 5 stars - Not worth it
I have purchased all of the Harry Potter books. I enjoy reading them. I knew this was written by another author but I thought it would be informative. This book was not even worth buying. Had little information and a grade schooler could of written it.

Rated by buyers 4 out of 5 stars - Give this book a chance - the map is great!
I love the style of the map, it is like maps of olden times, and the book of secrets is also well done. This is worth taking a look at, I would think that a serious Harry Poter fan would want to have it in their collection - I do.

Rated by buyers 5 out of 5 stars - Good to get
The book is a great book to get. It has ideas that one would want to expand on.
