Product Description:
From the critically acclaimed, and sometime damned Author, Gordon G. G. Gebert, comes his third book, 'ROCK & ROLL WAR STORIES' which you now hold in your precious hands. You will never listen to your favorite band again without thinking of these twisted stories.
Musician turned Author, Gordon G. G. Gebert, has done it again. He will take us past the 'velvet rope' at warp speed, pinned with a plethora of all-acess passes (that would make Wayne and Garth envious), into the utter chaos and mayhem of rock and roll with an uproarious collection of TRUE stories on the road, in the studio, and everywhere else in between. No one will stop you as you will be dragged through the bowels of hell and back whether you like it or not. Gordon, along with Philadelphia’s premiere rock journalist, Lynn Ramage, takes you on an insane rock and roll trip that will keep you reading as if you’ve just seen a train wreck.
Gebert’s previous smash hit books, KISS & Tell and KISS & Tell MORE!, sent the actual members of KISS and die-hard KISS fans reeling when Gebert revealed 'the man behind the curtain' in his candid expose’ of Ace Frehley and KISS. One thing critics and fans all agree upon is that KISS & Tell and KISS & Tell MORE are ENTERTAINING MUST-READS!
One way or another, by the end of this tour you’ll know what it takes to be a REAL rock and roll war veteran. It’s as close as you’ll ever get to being part of the entourage. Read it! Live it! Rock on!

Rock & Roll War Stories is a collection of hilarious recollections from famous rock musicians. It's real life Spinal Tap! You can pick up the book, turn to any page and you will be assuredly entertained. The only thing that didn't interest me were the photos of rock groupies, in various states of undress (some nude), in a military theme throughout the book. That, I'm sure, is directed toward the male readership and I'm sure they will be quite entertained. Other than that, the book is filled with laugh-out-loud anecdotes and a lot of fun to read!

I was really looking forward to reading this book. Unfortunately it is a complete waste of time, amateurishly written, and I wish I could return it. I threw this book in the garbage the night after I received it. It just does not live up to the hype. The author and co-author sure seem to have big egos for someone most people have never heard of. I've since canceled my order for Kiss and Tell as it is written by the same person.

First of all, the author(Gordon Gebert) and I have been acquainted for some time. So a review of the book will be somewhat biased in that A. I submitted a story that was originally set to be in the book-However, when the topic suddenly morphed from road stories to SEXY road stories, my boring, Spinal Tap-esque story became a casualty of the rock and roll T&A wars! Anyway, the stories are cool, if somewhat regionalized(Philly and New York do not an entire book make!) Knowing that Jeff Beck has a small johnson does make me feel better about my average guitar playing! Ok-But seriously, these are some pretty typical "I can't believe so much bad s@#t can happen to me!" stuff. I've been on the front line and experienced it very first hand. I was hoping for a few more infamous people to be involved, but maybe he is saving that stuff for Part II. Gordon, ya done good, son. Here's to you and Lynn doing another one-And, now that I know what you're REALLY looking for, I can give you all my AVN Awards/Rock Show stories from Las Vegas. Call me...........Nick(That guy from "Kansas")

Author Gordon G.G. Gebert has authored two controversial books that deal with KISS, specifically ex-guitarist and fan favorite Ace Frehley. Gebert spent many years inside Frehley's inner circle and after a less than amicable split, Gebert teamed with another ex-Ace comrade, Bob McAdams, to write 'KISS and Tell'. Gebert followed up with 'KISS and Tell More', a collection of stories that dealt with the fallout from KISS fans as well as some of the exposure he recieved from the very first offering.
I am a massive KISS and Ace Frehely fan, so I according to some imaginary KISS Army code I shouldn't praise Gebert and his work. However I do not know Ace Frehley so I cannot write off Gordon as some sort of scorned hanger on. I am a Frehley fan because I love his guitar playing, and he was one of my childhood idols. I do not love Ace because I think he may or may not be a good humanitarian.
Gebert has spent most of his life as a working musician in the New York area. His talents got him a gig with the reunited 70's band Angel, and from his experience he has gathered quite a few hilarious war stories from the front lines of rock n' roll. I am a musician myself, and laughed along to his tales because they are the sort of rock mishaps that happen to every musician, no matter what level you are at with your musical endeavors.
Gebert also offers some funny tales from the point of veiw as a fan, particularly his very first concert, The Who in 1974, as well as very first hand accounts of Emerson, Lake and Palmer concerts resembling Spinal Tap II.
Philadelphia based rock writer Lynn Ramage splits duties with Gebert. After working the music scene for years, Lynn has collecting many amusing stories from various musicians. In this book you will hear about the pain of getting shot in the testicles, how to berate handicapped people at a rock show (unintentionally of course), and what to do with your number two on a rock n' roll tour bus.
There are some more Ace Frehley stories by Wendy Moore, an ex girlfriend of Ace, that give a glimpse into her forthcoming book 'Into The Void', a novel about hanging with the Space Ace.
The most entertaining aspect of Gebert's writing is that he comes across in written word as he would if he was sitting subsequent to you on a bar stool. He has a sarcastic wit, an immense sense of humor, and a sometimes self depreciating sense of himself that makes him come across as human. Anyone looking for an exercise in the finer points of English, or finding a piece of writing that contains proper diction and form can look elsewhere. If you are looking for a trip through the trenches of rock n' roll with a seasoned musician and rock writer as your guides, then by all means, check out 'Rock N' Roll War Stories'.
By the way, the end of the book contains a section about urban myths and legends in the world of rock music. Even funnier is a collection of quotes from various performers, record executives and assorted music industry types that prove that maybe the movie 'This Is Spinal Tap' wasn't fiction after all.

What a big disappointment! You call yourself a writer, oh please! Other then the stories from the women, the book sucked!! Why do you have such UGLY chicks in your book, are you trying to make me barf?!! How many times can you mention Kiss or any of the members....BORINGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG!! It's also misleading to say the least, I thought some of the bands listed in the index were in the book and when I received the book and looked for stories on my fav band, I was set back for a major let down. Why do you even have that listed on Ebay..its 1 big fat lie!! OH and 5$ for your autograph, who are you kidding? I want my money back but I know thats not possible, so in the trash it goes! You should go back to school and learn how to become a writer. THE BOOK SHOULD BE USED TO WIPE YOUR A*S!
