Product Description:
A few days after becoming head coach of the Buffalo Bills midway through the 1986 season, Marv Levy made his very first personnel decision, claiming Houston Oilers reserve wide receiver Steve Tasker off the waiver wire. It seemed like an afterthought at the time, but in retrospect, proved to be one of Levy's most prescient moves.Over the subsequent 11 seasons, the diminutive 5-foot-9, 175-pound Tasker was a huge contributor as the Bills strung together an unprecedented four consecutive Super Bowl appearances in the early 1990s. Along the way, Tasker earned seven invitations to the Pro Bowl, and during the National Football League's 75th anniversary celebration, he was named the greatest special teams player of all-time. In Steve Tasker's Tales from the Buffalo Bills, the football star turned network television analyst takes a behind-the-scenes look at the franchise's most glorious era.

I bought this as a gift and never got to read it, however, the person who did told me it was excellent recapturing of the glory years here for the Bills. Steve's a legend here, great underdog story of a guy who was rejected and found his nitch to live out a dream.

I absolutely loved this book. Steve's multiple short stories give good insight on what the Buffalo Bills organization was like in the years leading up to, during, and after the heyday of their four Super Bowl appearances. He had a take on fellow players, coaches, Mr. Wilson, and of course himself. It was a joy to read what these guys were like in the ups and the downs of those glory days and how other teams feared them. They all deserve to one day be a member of that Hall of Fame in my hometown of Canton

Taskers' short book is a nice trip down memory lane for Bills fans accustomed to the teams losing ways as of late. You would think that this book would just be one feel good story after another about the Bills' glory years. Instead, Tasker and Pitoniak mix alot of positive stories with some revealing memories. For instance, who ever knew that Levy always regretted not talking to Thurman after his notorious fumble in the second Super Bowl against the Cowboys? Or the utter contempt that Kelly had for the city of Buffalo before playing for the Bills. Overall, this is a small book that can be read in less then a couple hours during the long off-season.

Interesting book for I am from that area and am a Bills fan who lived through this history. I like hearing it told from one of the participants point of view.
